Election Day
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2014.  Kids Voting polling locations in the City of Shakopee (Precincts 1-13) and at Jackson Town Hall and Marystown Parish Center will be open from 7 to 9 A.M. and 2:30 to 8 P.M. Kids Voting polls in Prior Lake and Savage will be open from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. ONLY.

Polling Locations
To find the polling location where you vote, visit the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website at www.mnvotes.org. Enter your zip code and home address. The pollfinder provides the following information:
~ Your polling location (where you vote)
~ A map to your polling location
~ Districts for your precinct

 

Bring Your Student to Meet the Candidates
Kids Voting Shakopee is co-sponsoring a Meet & Greet the candidates prior to the Shakopee Chamber sponsored candidate forums. Students and their parents will have an opportunity to meet the candidates and talk one-on-one with them. Representatives of Kids Voting will provide a list of suggested questions to help students begin their conversations with the candidates. Following the meet & greet, students are encouraged to stay for all or part of the candidate forums.
 

Candidate Forums – Thursday, October 23

6:30 p.m. - Informal meet & greet reception with the candidates for students and parents

7 p.m. - Candidates for Scott County Commissioner Districts 3 & 5

8 p.m. - Candidates for State Representative 55A

Location: West Junior High School Lobby & Auditorium, 200 10th Ave. East

 

The Candidate Forums will be rebroadcast on Shakopee Government Access Cable Channel 16 as well as on the Chamber of Commerce website and Chamber YouTube Channel. www.shakopee.org

 

Questions for the candidates are selected by a panel and may be emailed in advance to shakopeevotes@gmail.com.
