Kids Voting Voter's Guide  
Check out information on the candidates for school board, mayor and city council in the 2013 Kids Voting Shakopee Voter's Guide. Click here to view or download the voter's guide. Kids Voting encourages students and their families to use this guide to explore the candidates and their viewpoints in order to cast an informed ballot on Nov. 5th.

Election Day
Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2013.  Kids Voting polling locations in the City of Shakopee (Precincts 1-13) and at Jackson Township Hall (combined precinct for Jackson, Louisville, and Sand Creek Townships) will be open from 7 to 9 A.M. and 2:30 to  8 P.M. Kids Voting polls in the City of Savage Precincts 5 and 7 will be open from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. ONLY.

To find the polling location where you vote, visit the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website at www.mnvotes.org Enter your zip code and home address. The pollfinder provides the following information:

~ Districts for your precinct

Bring Your Student to Meet the Candiates
Kids Voting Shakopee is co-sponsoring a Meet & Greet the candidates prior to each of the Shakopee Chamber sponsored candidate forums. Students and their parents will have an opportunity to meet the candidates and talk one-on-one with them. Representatives of Kids Voting will provide a list of suggested questions to get the student's conversations started with candidates. Following the meet & greet, students are encouraged to stay for all or part of the candidate forums. Here are the dates and times for these events:

Shakopee School Board Candidates:
Tuesday, October 15
Meet & Greet candidates for students & parents: 6-7 PM
Candidate forum: 7-8 PM

Shakopee Mayor & City Council Candidates:
Tuesday, October 22
Meet & Greet candidates for students & parents: 6-7 PM
Mayor forum: 7-7:45 PM
Council forum: 8:15-9 PM

All events held at the Shakopee High School Auditorium & Atrium, 100 17th Ave. W. Forums will be  re-broadcast on Shakopee Government Access Channel 16 and on the Chamber of Commerce YouTube site and website.
